Occupational Health and Safety

Basic concept

The Group has established a Central Health and Safety Committee to promote Groupwide activities through which we strive to ensure safe, secure, and accident-free workplaces at construction and manufacturing sites and elsewhere by formulating site-specific health and safety management activity plans. Health and safety management and promotional personnel are also appointed at Tsukishima Holdings and individual Group companies in accordance with the size and role of each organization, to promote health and safety management and education. Tsukishima & J Technology Maintenance Service, which handles operational management and repairs on water, sewage, and environmental facilities, established an occupational health and safety management structure based on the ISO 45001 international standard.

Structure of occupational health and safety organization

Seeking to prevent accidents on site, we pursue health and safety training and related activities. In addition to biennial health and safety training sessions, we hold annual special training on the tasks undertaken at each site. Throughout the organization, we implement inspections and improvement activities at each site and workplace based on the Groupwide health and safety policies established by the Central Health and Safety Committee, striving to raise employee safety awareness.

Major initiatives

  • ・Accident prevention activities and quarterly inspections and assessments at each site
  • ・Semiannual workplace inspection patrols to improve workplace environments
※Patrols were conducted at overseas construction sites as well in FY2024.
  • ・Posting safety slogans, chosen from entries solicited from employees, during safety week
  • ・Training on risk assessments using virtual reality (VR) technologies
