Recognizing that safeguarding the personal information provided by customers, suppliers, and partners, employees, and other stakeholders (“Personal Information” hereinafter) is a key responsibility, Tsukishima Holdings Co., Ltd. and members of its group of companies (collectively, the “Company” hereinafter) handle all Personal Information as follows:

1. Handling of personal information

  1. Acquiring Personal Information

    For business activities related to the Water Environmental Business, Industrial Business, and other divisions, the Company may obtain Personal Information from its customers, suppliers, and partners to the extent necessary as part of appropriate business activities, for purposes such as handling orders for Company products and services (collectively, “Products and Services” hereinafter) and responding to inquiries regarding Products and Services and other inquiries, including participation in exhibitions, events, and other such activities, submitted to the Company.
    We also obtain personal Information from employees to the extent needed for sound labor management.

    The Company handles Personal Information for the following purposes:

    Customer Personal Information

    1. To provide Products and Services
    2. To provide after-sales services
    3. For planning, research, and development related to Products and Services and for quality improvement

    Personal Information concerning applicants for employment and internships and former employees

    1. To provide employment-related information to applicants (including applicants for internships) and to implement hiring-related operations and activities

    Company may make joint use of the Personal Information provided to the extent needed to achieve the purposes of use under (iii) below. Indicated below are the items of personal data jointly used, the scope of joint users, purpose of use by joint users, and responsibility for management:

    3. Purpose of use by users

      • To allow the provision of Products and Services by the Tsukishima Group
      • To ensure the appropriate conclusion and performance of contracts on various matters, including provision of Products and Services and post-contract management throughout the Tsukishima Group
      • To establish and undertake contracts between the Tsukishima Group and suppliers and partners, post-contract management, and other necessary communications with suppliers and partners
      • To implement various measures and to provide various services to build and maintain effective relationships between the Tsukishima Group and its suppliers and partners
      • To settle accounts with suppliers and partners
      • To conduct audits, including audits of internal controls
      • To implement compliance-related activities throughout the Tsukishima Group
      • To provide information on Products and Services and information on other Tsukishima Group business activities
      • To provide information on Products and Services and to distribute advertising by email based on an analysis of viewing histories, transaction histories, etc.
      • To provide information on Products and Services and to distribute advertising by email based on an analysis of data, including which emails are opened, website viewing histories, etc. for suppliers and partners in Japan
      • To use applicant information provided by individuals hired based on employment screening as Tsukishima Group personnel information post-hiring
      • To provide company information to and to undertake necessary communications with those seeking or planning to work with the Tsukishima Group
      • To respond to inquiries and comments provided to the Tsukishima Group
      • To improve Products and Services based on an analysis of Tsukishima Group website viewing histories
      • As otherwise needed to execute the Tsukishima Group’s business activities

2. Compliance with laws and regulations on safeguarding Personal Information

The Company safeguards Personal Information in compliance with laws and regulations, national guidelines, and other norms that apply to the handling of Personal Information.

3. Personal Information security measures

In addition to developing and establishing internal rules to ensure the appropriate handling of Personal Information, the Company will develop management structures and implement appropriate security measures to safeguard Personal Information from unauthorized access, loss, unauthorized alteration, leakage, and other threats and to ensure its accuracy and security. In subcontracting such tasks, the Company selects subcontractors who will handle Personal Information appropriately and establishes requirements to ensure the appropriate management by subcontractors while striving to protect Personal Information.

4. Continual improvement

The Company will establish and continually improve a personal information protection management system.

5. Collection of viewing histories

    Company websites use cookies for user convenience and to improve the services provided based on an analysis of customer access trends.
    Cookies are files saved on user devices to track history, information entered, and other information exchanged between user browsers and the Company server.
    Users may reject or delete cookies by changing their web browser settings.

    The Company websites use Google Analytics, an analytical tool provided by Google. The Company may use this tool to collect viewing histories of users of its website; to analyze use of the website; and to improve the services provided.
